Howdy. I'm looking to jump into SFS and have been re-rereading all the rules, requirements, et al. There was one thing I vaguely remember and cannot find anything on is whether or not there was a specific scenario that all new players had to complete before they can start jumping onto other SFS scenarios. Does it still exist or have I gone off the deep end?
Any other nuggets of wisdom are greatly appreciated.

You can play any scenario you like (almost*) first. Any scenario that includes level 1 in the range will work without any issues. You can participate in higher level scenarios with a pregenerated character as well, but then you have to choose whether to reduce the credits down to a level 1 scenario amount, or hold the chronicle until your character is the same level you played at. So short version find a place and sign-up they'll be happy to have you. In general I think new players enjoy playing a pregenerated character at first anyway to learn how the system operates and what scenarios feel like before starting to build something.
*Starfinder has a few scenarios that are high enough level that pregens are not available. It is unlikely that this would prevent you from playing something at that location.

There are no mandatory first scenarios in SFS. There are, however, a number of scenarios designed for starting characters, which are very newbie-friendly.
Intro 1: The First Test and Intro 2: For the Factions are a great way to learn the basics of what being a Starfinder is all about, and get to know something about the factions and leaders within the Society.
Starting with Season 4, the first scenario of each season is a low-level adventure that introduces that season's metaplot (the overarcing story that will tie together many, but not all, of that season's scenarios).
I highly recommend that new players play Intros 1 & 2, plus the current season intro. Not only will that give you a good grounding on what to expect in future games, it will also earn you enough XP to reach 2nd level.

You've gone off the deep end.
Bring your dice you'll probably land on enough gamers for a game.
