"After they walked through that glowing gateway, nothing was ever the same. A band of characters become paranormal investigators in order to figure out the cause of a global amnesic episode. Their quest takes them to lands near, far, and outside of this reality altogether. Along the way, the characters meet fellow "gatewalkers," defeat alien monsters, and explore strange realms also touched by the so-called Missing Moment. And when it comes time to learn the grim truth of what happened to them on that fated summer night, what then?"
An adventure path with elements similar to "Stranger Things" and "The X-Files"--horror and planar travel--combined with Pathfinder's high fantasy!
Sessions will run on Wednesdays or Fridays, likely from 4-7PM EST (2100-2400 UTC), though I might go a bit earlier--depends on player availability. We will use Foundry for the VTT and Discord for voice chat. So you can see how you like my GMing style, your first session after #0 is free.
I, your humble guide, am Eldon, a 32-year-old philosophy major with roughly 16 years' experience DMing. I'm not fluent in PF2e yet, but I h ave run and played, and I'm a skilled improviser. I typically follow rules as written, but I don't like how 2e turns almost everything into hard terminology ("I take the 'Read Magic' exploration action."). It feels too much to me like a video game. So, I play a little loosely with RAW's framework. Basically, tell me what you want to try, and I'll tell you what to roll (if it's reasonable). If a player wants to attempt something the rules don't cover, I'll usually allow it and arbitrate as fairly as I can--however, if I do have a bias, it's in favor of the party. At my "table," we're all players, and I want you to have a good time.
