Outpost Threads?

Online Campaigns General Discussion

Every now and then, I see a lot of Recruitment threads related to something called "Outpost." A Google search tells me that this is some sort of online PbP convention.

Is that accurate? Is this PFS-related? How frequently does it roll around?

I guess I have all of these same questions about "Gameday."

This is not a complaint post; I'm just curious.

I guess that indirectly answers two of my questions.

The first Outpost was in 2017; there wasn't one in 2018, but they've been held annually since then. Gameday/PbP Gameday Online is a similar online PbP organized play event, which has been held annually since 2013. They're basically like organized play (Pathfinder Society/Starfinder Society/Pathfinder Adventure Card Society) held at a convention, except that we play scenarios via PbP over rather longer than the four hours that a scenario would generally take at a con.

Hello! John Woodford has already answered most of this but yes, Gameday and Outpost are our two regularly-occurring PbP & PbDiscord conventions. They're run as part of Organized Play and feature games for Pathfinder Society 2E & 1E and Starfinder Society. Outpost typically runs from early March through mid-to-late May and Gameday typically runs from early September through mid-November.

If you're interested in Organized Play, we've got a basic Google Slides setup that contains links to various online lodges, how-to guides, points of contact, and more:

Play-by-Post Lodges

Hope that helps answer some of your questions :)

Not interested, but I was curious about them. Thanks all!
