Kitsune Star Orb, Missing clarification. (not about its innate surge ability, that is covered in erata)

The Kitsune Star Orb at first reading looks straight forward but it hides alot of questions that have follow up questions.

Is it a Creature or an object? is it an item?

Star Orb wrote:
Your magic has crystallized into a spherical stone. You gain a familiar, except it's a star orb: a Tiny stone of light Bulk.

So is it a Tiny immobile stone creature? cause both familiar and Minion trait refers to creatures, and they don't spell it out that its an item or object instead of a creature.

and some follow up questions:
Do it need to eat/sleap/breath?
can it be healed? or do you need to repair it or cast mend?
if its an object do it gain Object immunities?

And there are several other implications with aoe spells and items made for Familiars depending on if it is an object/item or a creature

Can it be stored as a light bulk item in sleaves of storage
or do it need to take up all its space and after 1h start to suffocate?
is it protected from spells like fireball like your potions and other items are?

The Baba Yaga Witch patron has a similar idea and suggests a resolution for it as well. If the familiar has no speeds, treat it as an object (object immunities and not targeted by area spells). If it has a speed, then it is treated like a creature (though it might still not need to eat/sleep/breathe).

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Some of the specific familiars don't need to eat/breathe/sleep like the aeon wyrd and the clockwork familiar.
It's also probably safe to give it the constructed immunities and mending from aeon wyrd, they're both magic stones thingys.
