Doppelganger Simulacrum and modifying the body (either the original or the copy)

Rules Questions

So i plan to make an alchemist who makes use of the doppelganger simulacrum a lot. They will have the flesh wrapper item creation feat along with the ability to craft constructs, including the soul bound construct. They will also be using Homunculi so being able to bleed is important. Could i make a Base body (half elf) doppelganger
simulacrum, and then modify my body, and then return to the unmodified doppelganger.

Also if the answer is yes, Does becoming a construct change anything?

Also out of curiosity their wouldn't be any problem in using simulacrums to create homunculi?

LOL, one of the developers once said something on the tune of "When we changed the Simulacrum spell we should have made Simulacrum a construct template and better clarified the effects of applying it to a creature copy." Simulacrum has generated a lot of discussions.

Some comments that are more useful for your questions:

The doppelganger simulacra work like the simulacrum spell, so they're half power compared to the alchemist. Some italics in that discovery would clarify that.

At the time he was a developer and the guy tasked with replying to rule questions on the forum.

2) RAW you create a simulacrum, so it can be a copy of any creature. RAI the discovery is meant to be limited to a copy of your body.

3) A simulacrum is a creature but nowhere it says it is a construct. It is made of ice, but it isn't immune to bleeding, so, in theory, it can bleed.
RAW it can and will bleed (if the original can bleed).

4) A construct is a creature, so you can make a simulacrum of a construct. Or of an undead.

5) Changes to your body will not be reflected in preexisting Doppelganger simulacrum.

6) With doppelganger simulacrum you have the problem that the homunculi will be inert when your consciousness isn't in them.

Unused simulacra (including his abandoned original body) appear to be lifeless corpses,

I strongly suggest you speak at length with your GM to try to iron out the possible problems.

If you want another possible abuse, apparently you can make a simulacrum of an adamantine golem and inhabit it. DR 15/epic at level 10.

P.S.: As a GM I will put some serious restrictions on all of the above esploits.

1) Ahh i didn't know they used to be a developer, then i think their word is law which limits the shenanigans' a lot... Wait does this mean that i can duplicate my extracts per day(for a character half my level ofc) for 1000 gold...

2) it does say
"The alchemist learns how to create a simulacrum, a soulless duplicate of his body" so i assume i can only copy myself

3) good news for me, well tortures for the character but having an endless supply of blood for homunculi is good

4) This is incredibly broken lol will avoid it because i like the GM

5) I assume i will be able to jump between them despite this. So i could have a simulacrum that's unmodified, one that's flesh wrapped, one that's a soul bound construct, ext.

6) why do they become inert? I would still be alive just not look it but they are smart enough to understand

4) Good.

5) I agree, they stay your duplicates.

5) That is what the discovery description says.

6) I get that the simulacrum is inert but I can't see why a homunculi would be inert? They are independent and whilst the connection is formed by my blood it is my soul they are tied to.

If you make them with doppelganger simulacrum you are under all the limitations of the ability. RAW the ability allows you to make a simulacrum of any creature, but they are active only when you inhabit them.

RAI seems to be that you can make only copies of yourself, but it is an unspelled limitation.

If you have other ways to make simulacrum they are always active.

Yeah i get that but if i create a homunculi using the blood of a doppelganger simulacrum of my character can i create homunculi that view me as their creator

I think so. If I were the GM, I will require you to do that when you inhabit the body. "Unused simulacra (including his abandoned original body) appear to be lifeless corpses, though they do not decay.", so I would rule that they are in some form of stasis when non-used and will not bleed, need to eat or breathe, and will be treated as an object.

I'm suddenly picturing a high level alchemist with a closet full of different bodies (either reshaped or made from other people) standing in front of it and trying to decide who they'll be today like other people pick clothes. "Hmm its all hallow's eve so I could go with the little girl and get lots of candy but I have the town hall meeting at 10 so I need to wear the wise old man, oh and I have the date at 12 so the Adonis body . .. is still at the cleaners BLAST. Butler! BUTLER!"

LOL. Great image.

I love it but also imagine like 1 body is a construct and some are driders
