Book of the dead: Skeleton companions

So i plan on taking the undead master archetype and was wondering. could my skeleton companions carry weapons and armor or is there a rule against that

Those undead conpanions use the same rules as animal companions, which don't allow for them using any items other than those made for companions. They also have no proficiency with any type of weapon, on unarmed, which means if they could use weapons, they would be incredibly ineffective with them.
