Thaumaturge weakness interactions

Rules Discussion

Anyone have any ideas how Thaumaturge's Exploit Vulnerability and Mortal Weakness apply to things like deactivating regeneration? for example, a Frost Troll has fire weakness 10, but its regeneration is also stopped by fire damage. Would a Thaumaturge triggering the fire weakness also stop the regeneration? I'm leaning towards yes, but would like to hear some other thoughts on it.

"Your unarmed and weapon Strikes activate the highest weakness you discovered with Exploit Vulnerability, even though the damage type your weapon deals doesn't change."

"However, if it takes damage of a type listed in the regeneration entry, its regeneration deactivates until the end of its next turn."

You are not dealing Fire damage, therefore you don't deactivate Regeneration.
