Hey all, first time poster so hopefully I did everything right.
Quick backstory: I play with a group of friends. We decided to take turns GM'ing. My brother started with Rise of the Runelords. My roommate is currently GM'ing Curse of the Crimson Throne. I will be doing Shattered Star once we wrap up this AP. We've predominantly done Core Supplements + the AP sources. For Shattered Star I think I'll open it up to most all Paizo Pathfinder 1E sources (assuming from the list in PCGen), besides other APs books. I just like the idea of them having as much freedom (within reason haha) and options for their PCs.
Now for my actual question: I will be running the module 'Seven Swords of Sin' as a warm up for myself GM'ing, as well as to get more playtime in. I was thinking of allowing the same freedom of choice for sources, but I know SSoS is one of the earliest modules. Would there be any detriment to allowing those sources? Should I stick to Core?
Any advice is appreciated, or advice in general about Seven Swords of Sin.

Welcome!
Seven Swords of Sin is a 3.5, not Pathfinder, system module. I suggest reading it but not running it. Also, I think the lore parts of the swords was updated in Artifacts of Golarion.
If you’re looking for an introduction game for shattered stars, take a look at the first We be Goblins module. The plot ties in pretty well to book one of shattered stars. There’s also a web supplement for book two I’d recommend to you.
