Do construct companions understand speech?

Does the inventor's construct innovation understand languages? Can it speak any? I couldn't find any rules anywhere regarding a construct companion's interaction with language.

The construct companion rules state that they only have an animal level intelligence, and their int mod is a -4. Much like animal companions, they don't have a high enough intelligence for language.

They can understand basic commands much like a trained animal though (in the same way as an animal companion).


It might not be able to share a language with you, but it can share an understanding between the beating of your heart and its heart.

...wait. Wait. No. That isn't a heart beat, that is just a carburetor. Nevermind.
