I'm just wondering for the things that have longer durations especially does your character know when its about to run out at least for their own spells/abilities?

Say you cast a spell with a duration of 100 minutes would you know when your getting to the end "Oh that transformation's about to wear off I need to renew it." or would you just be trying to guess/use a clock to keep an eye on your time and potentially wind up going "Haha you can't hurt me because I have X active . . . oh wait that clocks 3 minutes slow, blast its run out!"

You know how long they will last, but you don’t have a timer that counts down as the spell gets used up. I can see that you might get a warning when the spell is about expire, but that is not supported by any rule. I would give the warning in the last time increment before the spell wears off. So if the duration is 10 minitues per level you get a warning in the last 10 mintues, if it is a round per level you get it in the last round.

But in reality this is something that the caster needs to keep track of. Some characters are going to have an easier time than others. Any character with a high INT or WIS should not have that much trouble with this. A high INT character can easily keep track of multiple things at once, and a high WIS generally means you are pretty perceptive. If in doubt allow the character a spellcraft of perception roll to figure it out.

That's what I thought, just ran across the magic has signs anyone can see debate again and it got me wondering if magic has a warning its about to run out as well.
