Measuring Distance to target.

Rules Discussion

When I measure a distance to a large or greater size target, is the distance from the PC to the target; to the edge of the target's occupied Squares or to the centre of the target's occupied squares?

Measure to any square your target occupies. Most effects need only touch their target to apply.

You count starting from an adjacent square to
the nearest square containing the target creature.

You're in the red square. The ogre's space is represented by the 2x2 blue squares. From your space, the ogre is 6 squares away, or 30 feet (as represented by the squares with the thick black and blue borders).

Ravingdork, you're a genius. I'm going to be using that style from now on to explain anything grid-related.

Why thank you! 🤗

If you're on a PC, just hit the Windows Key + Period. If you're on a Mac it's Control + Command + Space.

Be sure to copy you're post before hitting the Submit Post button though, as when including emoji and similar symbols, the Paizo goblins have a FAR higher chance of setting your post on fire. If you copy it first, you can simply try again after putting out the fire.

It usually takes me a few tries, but the results are well worth it. 😁

Cool. I didn't know there were unicode characters for squares of various colors.

And for completeness, entering unicode codes on Linux is done with CTRL + Shift + U and then typing in the hex code.
