Remote operation in starship combat

Rules Questions

The remote operation spell states that it targets a "one operable technological device no larger than a vehicle that is not a starship" but I was curious if it could allow a technomancer to man an empty station in starship combat, if say an empty gunner's seat controlling one of the guns counts for targeting or if the 'not a starship' clause completely disables any use of the spell within a starship.

The 'not a starship' is definitely the big thing. Each station is not really is own separate thing but a part of the starship whole.

That said, as a GM, depending on the PC stations situation, I'd let it pass.

I would second that an empty station on a starship doesn't count as a (single) technological device.

However, the remote operation spell should be able to control a domestic drone to operate an empty station on a starship; probably a physician drone or porter drone because of the manipulator arms.
