Do cameras exist in Golarion?

Lost Omens Campaign Setting General Discussion

I know most of the planet is medieval-level technology, but there are some places (like Alkenstar) which are closer to Victorian-age, and the first camera was invented in 1888, so do they exist on Golarion?

I don’t believe so (though cameras obscura are ancient IRL), but I think there’s security cameras across Numeria.

I expect a Discworld-type camera with an imp in a box exists somewhere.

It's a different world - just because it seems equivalent to certain times and places in the real world, doesn't mean it has all of the same technologies as those times/places.

Cameras date from the 1830s. Do you really want late 1800s tech in Golarion? Majestic class battleships anyone?

Just because you have one doesn’t mean you linearly have to have the other, you can have cameras and typewriters without battleships (we have airships already). It’s another planet/reality, but one that also links to early 19s Earth as well.

Fun fact, Nintendo is older than Dracula.

Fun fact, Nintendo started as a playing card manufacturer.

Recording Rods, Zebubs, and a number of Scrying spells could fill camera functions on Golarion

Camera-equivalent things do exist, but almost universally in the form of rare magic items or rarer technological items. They're not things you can easily find for sale though.
