Can you use a free action during an activity / two action action?

Rules Discussion

For example, can you use Maneuvering Spell during a Spellstrike?

Spellstrike requires you to Cast a Spell, which would trigger Maneuvering Spell. As far as I can tell there's nothing that forbids this, but I just want to be sure I haven't missed something.

Yes, you may if you meet the prerequisite(s) which in that example you do.

Goooood. Sixth Pillar + Laughing Shadow Magus is a go.

2 people marked this as a favorite.

Seems legit as long as you meet the trigger frequency of casting a 2-action spell.

Edit: Hm...but frequency <> trigger...hm...

I don't think you can use a single action in between an activity.

That's an excellent point... Also disappointing...

EDIT: Wait, isn't the "Requirements" the trigger? I can't find any free actions that have a "Trigger" keyword. That would mean I could use it at any time like a reaction, still unsure if it would be able to get slotted into an activity though. It's not like the "Your next action" stuff (and I want to use it) so I want to lean yes... Bah...

EDIT 2: Nope, I'm dumb and blind and found a trigger. This wouldn't work. That's fine, I wanted the Stance the most anyway.

Horizon Hunters

The trigger should be "You begin to Cast a Spell that requires at least 2 actions to cast."
A Frequency would be something like "once per 10 minutes" or something.

That's another good point.
