How to handle non-class Anathema?

In my AoA campaign, one of the players is an oracle who follows Qi Zhong. Qi Zhong's only anathema is inflicting lethal damage on living things and this oracle has definitely done that a few times.

The problem is, not only am I not sure what effect that should have, if it was worth a curse, Qi Zhong doesn't currently have any. (I know the ones that are listed are examples, but I don't know much about this god.)

It shouldn't have any effect. Not usually. The Oracle's powers don't come from the deity nor do Golarion deities usually take much notice of mortals.

Now if there were a reason for Qi Zhong to take interest (perhaps as the PC gets involved in world-level affairs), then maybe they'd take umbrage at the Oracle misrepresenting Qi Zhong-ness. And the clergy might have something to say or fellow believers. And when reading or meditating or doing whatever religious observances the PC does, the PC would likely feel uneasy or even guilty.

Essentially the PC's a hypocrite though if their religion isn't a big part of their identity (public or personal), I don't think much would come of it. Whether the player knows this is another matter! If they think they're playing a devout PC, they might need a wake-up call.

Yeah, not devout. The player has been hinting that they may be interested in the character finding another god. It isn't a big part of the character and not a cleric/champion. (That's why I wrote non-class.)

I just felt like I needed a confirmation that I'm not screwing up letting it slide a little. Will try to slip the uneasiness/guilt in though.

Yes, that sounds completely fair. The character is voluntarily deciding to ascribe to the deity and can choose exactly how far to go in that devotion. And can also decide to break the deity's edicts when needed. The class has no penalties for this. The character may or may not feel bad about it.
