Hey, a recent podcast had someone point out that nowhere in the various conditions you gain when dropping to 0 HP that you release your held items. I dug around in the Death and Dying rules and I also couldn't find anything saying you drop prone.
I definitely do not feel it seems correct RAI, but RAW do you just stand there waiting for a Mortal Kombat finisher, weapons in hand?

The language that you drop your items and go prone is missing from the conditions unconscious, dying, and dead. However, it would be strange indeed to run into a GM who didn't rule that you drop held items and fall prone.
For me anyway, if you're prone i don't consider it an action to grab the rifle sitting right next to you. Bend down and pick something up is definitely different than just hugging veera next to you as you stand up.
