Hey sorry if this has been asked before couldn't find anything.

I'm new to the system and was making a vesk vanguard and I was going to give him a doshka however that leaves me with an unwieldy 2h weapon but the vesk natural weapons say that they threaten squares but the improved unarmed strike feat says you need 1 free hand to make an AoO with unarmed strikes normally. It's there an official ruling on this?

You threaten squares within your natural reach with your unarmed strikes even when you do not have a hand free for an unarmed strike.
It might be the Printed edition, but mine has that line in the Improved unarmed feat.
The only thing I see it prevents from not having an arm free is combat maneuvers.
If you are immobilized, entangled, or unable to use both legs (or whatever appendages you have in place of legs, where appropriate), you lose the ability to make unarmed strikes without your hands.
That tells me I can kick a guy for running past me just fine.

On another note, you have Entropic strike as a Vanguard.
Your entropic strike is a magical one-handed advanced melee weapon with the operative weapon special property that targets EAC (even when dealing bludgeoning damage). You can make this attack with nearly any body part and do not need a hand free to use this ability. Using your entropic strike does not require any additional action to use beyond the action you take to make an attack (for example, it can be used to make an attack of opportunity.)

Edit:
When making an unarmed strike without your hands, you can’t use such attacks for combat maneuvers or similar abilities—only to deal damage.

Yeah, you count as Armed with your vesk natural weapons. That was clarified to mean the same thing it did in pathfinder: you can make attacks of opportunity with them. Since they're not specified as anything (I don't even think they give a damage type) you can whap someone with your tail if they try to pass by you even if your Doshko is unwieldy.

As a matter of optimization I would go for a not unwieldy (wieldy?) reach weapon that targets EAC whenever possible. Despite the lower damage dice in theory, in practice the ability to make more AOOs and more opportunities to full attack outweigh the big alluring dice on the table. Creatures moving past 10 feet of you are exponentially more common than creatures trying to walk past you.
