Question about point special ability and fire linked weapons

ill just focus on the flak thrower for sake of ease but according to the rules you can link two direct fire weapons to fire as one. My (probably obvious question) is if i fire link two flak throwers together how exactly would it work? would i get two opportunities to shoot the/each missile down? or do i only apply one point special ability bonus (+8) or do i get to apply both to shoot down the/each missile (+16)?

Having 2 flak throwers would let you try to stop 2 separate missles. Linking flak throwers would not help you at all without making some houserule for how it helps.
