If a vessel has a Virtual Intelligence (of any Mk) and also has the expansion bay of Dedicated Computer Housing (for gunners action of Shoot lets say) and the VI was acting as the gunner for that turn and told to shoot would the VI use not only its Gunnery skill (as determined by its Mk level) but also get the additional from the DCH? Its specifically stats that in the description of the DCH that the DCH bonus doesnt benefit from the main computers ICM bonus. ![]()
In the starship operations manual in the starship weapons it has ramming special property weapons. My question would a vessel that has both a ram weapon, say a minor ramming prow, as well as a hull blade type weapon, say a light-blade hull, both on the front quadrant, would the damages be combined? dealt individually?, only one applies? if so which one? ![]()
The description of the breaching pods states it travels in the same way as a long range tracking weapon. My questions are, since it is an expansion bay and does not specifically state it is a weapon, would launching a breaching pod trigger starship combat? Or the drop of a active cloaking device/gray cloaking device? ![]()
Well it was mostly for bounty hunting/re-appropriating, situations where the vessel in question is more the target than its occupant(s), as well as they stumble across a "abandoned" or floating vessel (and while it does state in the Breaching Pod expansion bay that it could be used for that in no combat situations, not every vessel has a breaching pod) and pirating actions/potential fleet building. And just in general so that like a friendly ship (NPC/player, say a tiny fighter) wanted to meet up with the crew of a ship (say a medium transport) to catch up on old times or something. ![]()
The push/pull towards/away in a straight line was what is what I figured they mean as well, just figured I'd ask to make sure. The new roll for new attack with the transfer between facings sounds reasonable. And I was thinking along lines of the Enforcer One (hutt) vessel from star wars in terms of grabbing ships and bringing round to the front arc to be hit with fire linked persistent particle beam cannons for massive damage/final destruction. Thanks for the help and hope to hear from more players/GMs. ![]()

It states in the description of the tractor beam special ability that it can push or pull the target ship or hold it place. My first question is can it push/pull the target in other directions besides towards or away from the firing ship. Such as could I move the target to the left or right? Up/Down? My second question is if so could I (if I have tractor beam weapons on more then one facing) move a target to a different ship facing? My third question is similar to my second in that if I have a Tractor Beam weapon in a turret can i move it around my ship as I see fit? ![]()
ill just focus on the flak thrower for sake of ease but according to the rules you can link two direct fire weapons to fire as one. My (probably obvious question) is if i fire link two flak throwers together how exactly would it work? would i get two opportunities to shoot the/each missile down? or do i only apply one point special ability bonus (+8) or do i get to apply both to shoot down the/each missile (+16)? |
