Among his other failings, at least he's not a landlord.

I haven't had to pay rent in his head since I moved in. Electricity bill's high, though. The wiring's really shot in here.

I'm just amazed he's missed the many times I have linked to the campaign tools extension that has the block function he so desperately needs.

The more insulting thing with that profile is that his listing of Kobold's alias uses small letters, versus big letters for everyone else.

Well, we kobolds are very small.

I'm amused that he supposedly gives his real name with a blurb about perceived privacy, but won't also disclose his location.

Remember how Jordan Peterson, before his public meltdown, was constantly scaremongering for money about how Canada was gonna make it illegal to misgender someone?

TwilightKnight not only definitely believed that, he's definitely still mad it never happened to give him an excuse to misgender trans women as a "political statement".

Oh yeah, Canadian Parliamentary Bill C-WTF.

I think it died in committee or something. Shot in the back from what I heard. Very messy.

EDIT: On second thought, the proposed legislation may have been stabbed to death in the rotunda (a very painful place to be stabbed!)

I keep having to remind myself that I don't actually want to delete my account even though a part of me very much does.

It just never ends, and I don't have the willpower some do to "take a break". I have lost count of how many days have slipped away from me like leaves in a fast-flowing creek because of inane or hateful arguments I couldn't look away from. People like TwilightKnight and Sunderstone seem to be incapable of getting banned, and now there are only two moderators on the entire site--Heather and Tonya.

I hate this.

I'm very sad tonight. Hate when I get like this.

I recommend 20 cc's of kitty petting and some of your favorite hot beverage there KC. Not a cure for the common jerk-off, but an excellent temp treatment.

What Beernorg said.

We've been having lots of fun with hot takes lately, so here's mine. My worst and most unpopular take that I am 10000000% right about is that a letter is supposed to, and should, have two commas in the greeting address.

"Hi, Carl,"

Not

"Hi Carl,"

People will boo me about this because nobody wants to hear the truth.

BOOOOO! BOOOOO!

I didn't want to hear that truth!!!

It has come to Our attention that DEROGATORY COMMENTS have made about Us in this thread, possibly by Dragons of Chaos, who are probably also Cultural Marxists.

Imagine that - somebody bad-mouthing US, true intellectuals, standing proudly as free-thinking INDIVIDUALS, far above the porridge-headed masses, who We could crush in an instant like the pathetic insects they are if we so chose, using the Glorious Tools bequeathed to us by our noble Western Heritage, namely, REASON, LOGIC, and HEAVY-DUTY DOWNERS!

We're not bothered, though. Facts don't care about Our feelings.

After a lot of editing, I've now got five chapters ready for posting and have completed two commissions as a result. That feels very nice. I also really didn't want to work this morning, because I was up too late last night, but I managed to make myself at least respond to some messages and outline a future commission I'm doing for someone I really admire.

I really can't wait for these dipshits to get banned so we can get back to focusing on enjoying the hobby. I genuinely think the forums will be in a much better place once they're gone and when/if the moderation team is expanded.

Was about to go and post a really upbeat note about how today went wonderfully and things are going well foe the first time in a while when my miserable renter's insurance company autoemailed me--at 10:30pm--to inform me that my policy would be ending in 1.5 hours, for reasons the email did not elucidate. Something about a payment not going through, only I received no warning at all up until the night of, and it seems I can't do anything about it now. Reinstatement is $25, or will be if they let me attempt it. I started panicking and trying to work out what was going on, snapping at my girlfriend and generally freaking out in the worst way I could, because I'm extremely emotionally volatile at 11pm and don't handle things like this well at all.

So it's a less cheerful note to end today on.

Still no idea what happened, by the way, or why they didn't warn us at all I'm really upset and pissed and rattled. Insurance is a miserable vulture industry.

Be very, very careful -- that sounds like a scam that's been running through the MidWest lately.

They get you all wound up and paranoid you'll do ANYTHING... and give them all your info when your brain is locked into FLIGHT mode.

And then two weeks later your actual insurance will call you and ask you why you cancelled your policy when you *didn't*.

It's happened to a couple of people I know.

Yeah, that's a scam. They can't cancel your policy over email with 1.5 hours notice in the middle of the night. That's illegal.

Call up their customer service number to confirm with them, but I'm certain this is a scam.

Well said, gentlemen.

At least in my state, that information HAS to be sent via snail mail.

GRRR...I LOATHE scammers!!! As noted be wary KC. Also, bite them!

I don't know about that. It had my policy number, used the same email, and offered the same phone number to call. They also had my debit card on file, as I learned when I called them to resolve it. So if it's a scam, it's a slow-burn scam.

(Also, while I did only get two hours' "notice", they didn't offer me a way to pay to fix the problem until I called this morning during their working hours. As I understand it, the "two hours notice" would only imply a scam if they used it to rush me to a hasty decision.)

My card expired last month, and I forgot to update it with them because I switched to paying with my bank account instead. I guess they tried to bill me with the expired card instead, it failed, and the system automatically tried to punt me out.

I had to pay $32 to reinstate this morning. If it is a scam, guess I got scammed, but also, if it is a scam, I have way bigger problems, since they've apparently hacked my renter's insurance provider.

Yeah, and I used the email on the insurance company's website to contact them, and they confirmed I'd missed a payment and said to call them.

Quote:
Thank you for your email. We attempted to process the one-time payment of $27.41 on the 12/20/2021 ending in ****, however, it was declined due to The card being Expired . Please call us at *********** weekdays between 8AM-5PM CST and we would be happy to assist you.

Again, this was a reply I sent specifically to the email address the website provided. So either they've hijacked the official email and official phone number, or it's just a very unprofessionally-run company.

Hmm. I'm still a bit suspicious, but...okay.

Well, that was Bad D&D. Hope Session 1 is better than Session 0, or I'm not coming back.

I haven't gotten to play in a real-life group for a long time, and I was excited. But one of the people in the group is an extremely toxic ex-friend (bad luck, I know) who constantly dumps her pain on people and over-apologizes and puts herself down. She also has no inside voice, and the room we're playing in has awful acoustics for that. With a few hyper/talkative players, it was overwhelming and impossible to get a word in edgewise.

It was disappointing.

Also, open concept is just awful.

Ewww, if it gets too not fun, just bail, better than enduring steaming loads of BS, though I totally get missing in person games, had my first in person game session in more than a year couple weeks ago. Oh, how I missed such things.

I'll bail if the next session is just as bad. Just sucks having to wait to leave, since one of the players is my ride.

Okay, just a coincidence that I got Smurfette twice in a row a moment ago. In that case, hot dog!

This seem apropos, given recent things.

For reasons I cannot fathom, I have decided to get back into Dragcave.net. Probably some incredibly misguided nostalgia for the early Obama years, right?

Anyways, click on the eggs and humor my early-adult-life crisis.

Alright, bedtime. I love my girlfriend very much. We spent all night messing with a giant telescope we found in the garbage last month. We also initiated her new oyster mushroom kit I got her, since it arrived early.

I have a very dear friend who's very sick, and I worry a lot for them. I'm also sad that my other gf caught covid and won't be coming for Christmas after all. My best friend/"sister" will be moving to Eugene next year, and my heart urgently wants to follow her, but our roommate (my ex) wants to move to Corvallis, and splitting up would be really hard on everyone after everything we've been through. We'd have to separate the cats.

So, some sad. On the bright side, tomorrow I'll be getting another chapter edited, and I'm doing pretty good with work overall. I'm ridiculously excited for Christmas. The Paizo community has left me very hopeful today overall, and my novel outlining is going great (I decided to start over the story entirely because every scene was a chore).

I found out yesterday I get to spend my winter carving wedding boulder fountains and tracking down giant marble spheres that I can put in the fountains so the water spins them around.

Which is pretty much my ideal winter.

We're entering into my favorite twelveish hours of the entire year. This is my very favorite holiday. Just something special to me about the combination of good food, gifts, coziness, cute outfits, and folk story spookiness.

Sadly, my ability to really put together any kind of ensemble has been badly hammered these past months. Same with trying to put together an autumn look. I haven't been clothes shopping in nearly two years and my clothes are almost all in tatters at this point.

Clothes are weird for double puberty trans girls, I think. For eighteen years, you're taught nothing about putting together a nice wardrobe--heck, you're punished for trying. Then, suddenly, you realize you're expected to be even better at it than cis girls, so you can prove you're a woman, too.

I find fashion really fun, and thrifting at St Vinnie's is a treat. But I don't have the skillset. It's something I've had to piece together. All I really know is color theory and not to mix patterns, and all my outfits are just "a skirt and a blouse". Clothes aren't nearly as daunting or as high stakes as makeup, of course. Still haven't even gone near that. Again, I'd like to, but it's a whole new thing to learn to do.

Anyways, that's a tangent. This was a good night. I made eggnog! Come to think of it, I am probably still under my eggnog's fell influence!

I also finished a new chapter and posted it--I finally have a huge buffer again, like, 7 weeks of content--and yesterday I made enough chicken paprikash (which, by the way, slapped) for both last night's dinner and tomorrow night's. I've been a busy bee. Good thing, too, because I seriously spent a lot on the Holly Days this year. A lot of us really missed them, it turns out.

Merry Christmas, everyone.

Gosh, I hope I get to go to PaizoCon next year. I never thought I'd miss it so much again.

MERRY CHRISTMAS KOBOLD CATGIRL WOOOOOOOO

Merry Christmas morning! I got up and made some decorations around the tree (gosh, it's hard to cut a good star without doing the two-triangle six-pointed star, which I feel like sends kind of mixed signals today), and I put stuff in the stockings (all the parents sent gifts and stockings stuffers, so we have way too much stuff to fit), and I've started making breakfast (hashbrowns and scrambled eggs, sausage if I can thaw it fast enough to use). And it just started snowing. First white-ish Christmas we've had in many years.

I'm just gonna say it--I've heard all the Baby It's Cold Outside Discourse, the "actually it's about her playing coy when she really wants to sleep with him" takes, and while I do not think it's about sexual violence at all, I am giving it the KC Stamp of Still Kind Of Skeevy.

it's a banger though

Maybe it's Old Outside:

It could be my jaded retail experience (being bombarded with it over the intercom) mixed in with far too many episodes of Law and Order: SVU from back in the day that causes me to think of it as "Oh, hey, holiday date-rape song".

Merry Christmas, Festive Yule, Happy Kwanza, Feliz Navidad, and much, MUCH, MORE!

The sausage was rancid, so I cleaned everything, threw out the sausage, and made potatoes + eggs. Already ate most of them, of course.
