I have a Vesk melee soldier with Blitz style. Feats so far: 1. Weap Foc Adv Melee 2. Cleave 3. Mobility 4. Coordinated Shot 5. Enhanced Resistance.
Spring Attack looks great on paper, but I'm having trouble figuring out what I'd actually use it for. Is there some reason it's awesome for a melee whacker that my tiny little brain can't comprehend?

It lets you avoid Aoos as you walk up to things, and to kite them trading one hit for one hit. With a reach weapon you can not only hit them from a lot more squares, but pull away from them and make them walk up to you for a whap of opportunity.
The main reason NOT to get spring attack is that you have to get mobility. Since youal ready have it, there's almost no reason no to get spring attack.

It seems like you're assuming AoO happens when you enter a threatened square, but I think it only triggers when you leave one. Unless I'm just missing something in what you said?
Thank you, in any event.

I believe the idea is that you avoid the AoOs of creatures with Reach. You can also scoot around behind enemies to flank without worrying about stray stabbings.

Thanks
I'm playing a Soldier/Biohacker right now with the feat; it's handy for fighting big monsters, sneaking around the side so my allies aren't shooting through me.

Things with reach
Walking around to the back to flank
walk around to get out of the line of fire.
(your tail is always in the way of my shot!)
