Monk's aren't my strong suit I'm afraid. I'm trying to help someone who insists on being a dexterous melee Monk. I've tried pointing him towards another class like Ninja or using Unarmed attacks, but he's dead set on monks and weapons. Anyways, what are some good finessable weapons that monks can use their special abilities with?
The only ones that are even half-decent I can see are the Bich'hwa and the butterfly sword, which I'm only calling half-decent for the 19-20 crit... And the Monk isn't automatically proficient with either of those (Bich'hwa is exotic and the butterfly sword is martial).
I can guarantee that it would not break your game to house rule that monks are always proficient in monk weapons, though.
