Gunblades and Inventors

Gunblades are almost certainly going to be advanced weapons. Why can't we build a gunblade as our innovation weapon? Seems like it's something an inventor would do...

I hope not. That seems excessive. If I tape a simple weapon [Flintlock pistol] to a simple weapon [dagger] I wouldn't want it to just up from simple to advanced...

I think just being able to give a ranged weapon a melee strike is enough to make a gunblade anyways, and that should be something weapon innovation can cover I think (if they decide to let them be more interesting)

I don't think gunblades will (all) be Advanced weapons. I would not be surprised however if they were all Level 1 or higher weapons.

The level 4 weapon innovation specific Inventor Feat, Dual-Form Weapon, would let you make (probably a better) gunblade, but it is an annoying restriction.

Eh, the two actions to switch is painful on that. And... there's just almost no options for ranged weapon modifications until the last tier really. It's awful.

True, true.

I really hope we get more modifications in the final book. Both in the sense of more options and in the sense of gaining more for the innovation (say 5 instead of just 3)
