I am working on a Homebrew campaign and I looking at the BBEG looking for heart (ie his phlatchery) of a Lich King to become a new Lich King I am figuring out how make one ie Lich King ie class to use.
Well, what do you want it to do?
Want an Incorporeal Wildshaping Lich? Blight Druid-13/Agent of the Grave-5, drink Ghost Syrup, wear an Amulet of Grasping Souls.
Want a robot Lich?
Android Crossblooded Sorcerer-20 with Impossible and Nanite Bloodlines.
I was looking at something Knight of Sepulcher as the base as for the phylactery how to turn ones heart into it.
From GM standpoint, you can simply say his or her heart is made from black amethyst, but still pumps as if it is made of muscle and flesh.
There is no real set in stone dogma regarding lichdom, so you just do whatever fits your story best.
Does becoming a Lich require sacrificing children in your world? It does in mine... becoming a Lich is F'ed-the-F-up in my opinion, and thus my games reflect the super disgusting nature of the ritual. Liches are gross, irredeemibly evil abominations. I love them.
Basicly the story is based off of Mythica films and want be LK wants to use the heart of the former to forge his phylactery into armor. Basicly mixing the rules of the Grave Knight mixed with the Lich phylactery.
Then I would have the incumbent Lich King be a Ravener dragon... that way their heart is large enough to be forged into some b@d@ss armor.
