How many ways to cast 15ft cone straight?

Rules Questions

Hello,

I just read the description for how to cast a cone shaped attack and noticed it was very different Pathfinder.

Cone
A cone-shaped effect extends away from you in a quartercircle in the direction you designate. It starts from any corner of your square and grows wider as it goes. Most cones are either bursts or emanations (see above), and thus won’t go around corners.

It is a bit unclear to me if the following allowed or supposed to be:

ooooooo | ooooooo | ooooooo
ooXXXoo | ooXXXoo | ooXXXoo
ooXXXoo | ooXXXoo | ooXXXoo
oooXooo | oooXooo | oooXooo
ooCoooo | oooCooo | ooooCoo

C= caster
X = Cone area
o = filler square.

The left picture is choosing the upper right corner and going just north.
The center picture is choosing either upper corner and going just north.
The right picture is choosing the upper left corner and going just north.

The center picture is what Pathfinder allowed. I can easily read the cone rule above to allow or not the left and right pictures. Any idea how this was meant to be?

Thank you

Please clarify in the top right picture of the book where the character is allowed to be. All three diagrams I have in the first post work with that picture. So the question is still there about exactly what squares can be covered based upon the rule.

Thank you

All three diagrams are allowed. You choose a corner of your space and place the cone shape down based on that corner.

It can come back across your square like the middle one, or to the left or right like the left or right diagrams.

There are 6 potential positions: 3 with the diagram as is, and 3 if you imagine the diagram juxtaposed horizontally.

EDIT: or are you asking whether the caster can include themselves in the area of effect? Technically, I suppose they could.
