Champion divine ally

Advice

With the divine ally shield raising your shields hardness does that also increase your shields bonus to ac?

No, it only increases the reduced damage you and your shield take when using shield block.

Shield defense is more of a function of surface area rather than hardness. It is about how easily you can get it into a position where you can block and deflect. As such, wooden and steel shields of the same general size give the same AC bonus.

Better hardness does help when you are trying to tank a blow with the shield block reaction.
