Barbarian with monk dedication advice, please

Advice

Afternoon everyone, I’m building a Barbarian (Animal Instinct, Ape) With the Monk Dedication for Extinction Curse. I could use some advice on item selection for my character. I know that handwraps will be a must and my DM and I are working to make those an option to get them. What other items should I consider/be on the look out for?

I am intending on focusing on Ki feats for the monk aspect so if that might impact item selection.

Items don't come immediately to mind, so much as the warning that the majority of the monk ki spells have a verbal component and can't be used during rage without Moment of Clarity, since verbal components have the concentrate trait.

Thanks for the reminder! With that in mind, I may use the ki aspects for moments when I’m not raging, but I do intend to take Moment of Clarity, just in case I need to use one of the spells while raging.

Well, now you are making me realize that I missed some details by just assuming that spells generally come with the concentrate trait.

Quick question (in case I missed something else)- Concentrate is the only one of the 4 spell component types that have the concentrate trait (rest are manipulate). If a spell isn't verbal, is it open to rage casting? Or am I missing another spot of concentration somewhere down the line?

That's correct. Non-Verbal Spells do not have the Concentrate Trait.

Clerics have a large number of non-Verbal combat related Focus Spells, making them a good choice for a Barbarian caster.

Like Slap them senseless.

Now I am contemplating designing up a barbarian with sorcerer multiclass that uses obscene gestures to cast Elemental Toss.

There are also some fun spells like invisibility and silence that aren't verbal. One action harms and heals. Jump. There are more but I can't remember them all.
