There seem to be several AP volumes with some major media influences and that actually engaging with those would aid a GM running them. Do people have any thoughts on this ?
What I mean is that for example:
- Souls for Smugglers’ Shiv : this has a very “Lost” vibe and is referenced as an influence by James Jacobs. It seems like seeing Lost would potentially help the running of this?
- Hook Mountain Massacre : the first part seems to be inspired by The Hills Have Eyes .
So what are others like this?
Are there many volumes that it could be suggested have a “must see” media influence that could greatly aid the GM with the vibe?

So, in Strange Aeons the PCs wake up in an asylum with no memories of who they are. While this is pretty novel in an RPG, it's much more common in survival horror games.

Doubling down on Lost, "Into the Shattered Continent" has a stat block for a smoke sentinel.

So, we are starting STOLEN FATE [very pumped, first session is tonight!] and shortly after I told the guys that we are going to start this campaign, I was moseying around on the internet, and I randomly found that there's a Stephen King book which touches on some of the [censored] which are in the AP. When I was preparing to run ATTACK OF THE SWARM, I picked up some sci-fi novels about bug-fighting, namely ARMOR by John Steakley, and the WAR AGAINST THE CHTORR series by David Gerrold [I also bought all of the DAMIA series by Anne McCaffrey, but I haven't read those yet... they are staring at me right now...].
And that got me thinking about the White Wolf / Onyx Path books, almost all of which have 'media guides' for inspiration on themes and backgrounds on whatever book it is, which might help the player / storyteller either get more information on, i dunno, cyborgs or frankensteins, or get a sense of the mood of the book.
I was wondering if Paizo would consider / has considered adding something like this to the Adventure Paths, either in the Player's Guides [in a non-spoilery sense] or in the actual AP volumes [spoiler galore], to help players/GMs get a better sense of the mood and themes of the adventure they are about to play?

Suggesting media influences in the form of games, movies, novels, short stories, and the like is something we've been suggesting to the writers of Adventure Paths from the start. Like... I told Rich Pett to make part two of Rise of the Runelords feel like a Hammer horror movie and told Nick Logue to lean into 70s American horror like Texas Chain Saw Massacre and The Hills Have Eyes for Hook Mountain.
And we've done "suggested reading/viewing" lists for products before, although that practice has largely been set aside.
BUT Something to consider!

For those preparing to run Quest for the Frozen Flame, I'd suggest Elizabeth Marshall Thomas's Reindeer Moon, and to a lesser extent The Animal Wife, in addition to Jean Auel's Earth's Children series.
