Hi Guys
I am looking to challenge myself for one of the Convention TTS tables and thought I would try a character that I couldn’t see obvious builds for - Sajan (Core)
As I see it, he has many different paths e.g. Focus on Strength, Smash pack and Role = Exiled P for lots of big iron goodness
Or
Focus on dex, max handsize and use the built in combat power and blessing powers for Monsters, Role = Irori
I have never played a Sajan or seen one in play and would love to get people’s thoughts, play feedback or build suggestions
I have two issues to solve
1 Decide general build path
2 Pick 3 packs that allow for that build path
Love to hear feedback!
Thanks
Edit:
After some more research, I am thinking
Dex focus
Role = Irori
Packs =
P3: Occult (Utility items, Quarterstaff of Vaulting)
P1: Finesse (Acrobatics weapons, Irori Blessings)
P2: Alchemical (One shot utility items, Irori blessings)

What a sad thing to hear.
I'm actually dusting off my Class Deck Sajan that I've used for a few of the specials to run in the special at Paizo Con Online.
But Core Sajan is a bit of a different creature.
One other thing to consider is how much to rely on your weapons or you power to use Acrobatics or Melee for you combat check.
You actually have a great plan I think. The only thing I'd reconisder is the Achemical adventure's pack. That's partially because I'm not super big on one shot utility items, especially higher level ones. But at the same time, I can't think of another pack that would be better. If you have the Monk class deck, I'd consider that with maybe the Monk class deck with Finesse and Occult.

Thanks Hawkmoon!
I am definitely thinking on mainly using unarmed, and then a weapon if it is in hand.
I do have the Monk deck and will use that for Society Play
For PaizoCon I was looking to play in tables using the real time Table Top Simulator Tyler etc al put together and that is limited to Packs only.
I will relook at the packs for a view on permanent items
Much appreciate your insights!

Went with Monk, Occult and Support
Only played 3 scenarios. once I got my head around making sure I keep some blessings back for my own checks, he was a solid contributor at the table.
Certainly takes a little growing into, however he is growing on me. Will be playing again the next set of tables I get into.
Thanks for the feedbank, the Monk deck was definitely a crucial part and he would be a lot more painful with just packs

Awesome. One of the tricky things I've found is trying to find slashing weapons that utilize acrobatics to take as upgrades later one. They are in there, but its easy to get excited about a slashing weapon only to realize it uses Melee. Which, isn't the worst for Sajan, but it is more ideal to have Acrobatics.

Yes, I could see how important that is with Class Deck Sajan.
It is one of the great flexibility options from using Packs, is the ability to tailor your deckbox based on targeted cards, however does lead to some build tradeoffs you need to think about before you start :-)
I love this degree of flexibility as the evolution of charac5ers over time is one of the aspects I love with RPG and ACG

One drawback of Adventurer's Packs is the tradeoff you sometimes have to make - do you take a pack which has one or two really excellent cards for your character, but is otherwise not that tempting, or a pack which has a bunch of reasonably useful cards, but nothing outstanding.
That limitation is most apparent if you're only using Adventurer's Packs - - if you're just using them to supplement an existing class deck you'll usually be able to start with a reasonable selection of cards for any character from that class deck.
A big advantage of strict segmentation into fixed packs is that it is possible to build multiple characters simultaneously from one set of packs (a feature of particular interest to multi-player households). But if you're coming from a background of playing home games out-of-the-box, finding out that you can't choose any level 0 boon from the box when you are building your character can be a bit of a surprise! (the other side of the coin - that you're not dependent on encountering any particular upgrade you want during play - isn't immediately apparent).
I don't have a good solution to this problem. I've wondered about options like being able to choose some small number of cards from the full range of cards available (maybe limited to only X cards in your deckbox, or only Y cards in your deck?). We've seen some scenario rewards that do this kind of thing - making certain named cards available much as loot card are.
