Bringing Back Rexus' Parents

Hell's Rebels

I'm just curious after a recent decision by my Hell's Rebels gaming group to save up money for Resurrection spells for Rexus's parents how many other rebel groups ended up bringing back his parents. I mean, it's a truly touching moment and I think it cemented in Rexus his trust and faith in the Silver Ravens (especially as it came out of the blue).

So, did anyone else's Ravens do this? And if so, what were the sociopolitical repercussions? I mean, you go from having a noble house wiped out to the heads of the house being back alive and all that....

This is a wonderful idea, and my PC's have not even thought about this. They could manage this at some point in book 2, which would help hugely in turning the nobles in book 3 against Thrune...

"Oh yeah, Barzillai tortured and murdered us, the nobility, and then turned us into undead. You sure you still want to side with that guy?"

My group was intending to when I played it. The game petered out after the transition to Book 2, though, so we never got the chance, and I never much cared for the idea. It's a nice personal gesture to Rexus, and the Victocoras could be influential short-term spokespeople, but they are not necessary in that role and more importantly, restoring them to life also restores to the family all their lands and wealth (unless Rexus agrees to renounce it beforehand, which he might for its own sake, if it's not framed as an exchange), which represents a step back in the implementation of any land reform program.

My team's stuck on raise dead thus far. Also purchasing a scroll of resurrection is going to require a trip to Vyre, given the purchase limit in the Ravounel capital.

Two scrolls of resurrection, surely? It seems cruel to bring back Porcia without Aneran and vice versa (and come to think of it, the spell doesn't tell them whether or not their spouse will be resurrected - this might impact their decision whether or not to return).

I'm wrong, just the one scroll from book 3.
