Alchemical Reagents= free crafting?

So say I found 50gp worth of alchemical reagents...does that mean my alchemist can use those in increments to craft "permanent" versions of my formulas? For example, let's look at a Lesser Acid Flask 3gp price. Just expend 3gp and 4 days, make the check and it's done?

Otherwise, what is the use of 50gp of Alchemical Reagents?

Am I waaaay off?

Thanks anyone who can help!

Basically that's "you found 50gp, but you can only spend it on Alchemical Crafting". So, crafting a Lesser Acid Flask would require you to use 3gp worth of those 50gp of Reagents.

Or you could sell them for 25 real gp.

Depending on where that is, I'd say it's at least as likely they intended it to be treated like gems and works of art (i.e. a gold value with a different name) in that you can sell them at full price.

The players did originally sell it for 50gp like gems, but we will reverse that since there is an Alchemist in the group that can use them!
