Question About Greater Dispel Magic for Magus

Rules Questions

Apologies in advance if this is in the wrong section as I wasn't sure where this belonged.

So I have something that's been a bit of a head scratcher with regards to GDM for magus, namely in terms of its spell level versus other classes of the same spell progression track.

With Greater Dispel Magic being 6th level only for magus, compared to other classes that have 6th level spells as their maximum spell levels (bard, summoner, and occultist), they get the spell later than every other class that has GDM. Every class that can learn GDM has it at 13th level; magus only learns it at 16th level.

Is this intended, or is it an error/oversight? It seems odd that only one class would learn a spell 3 levels later than every other eligible class, at the earliest.

It’s intentional. Inquisitors also get it at 16th level. Combat-based spell users intentionally get lesser spell casting.

Magus and Inquisitor are both pretty competent martial fighters, so they have a weaker casting ability

I kind of figured that might be the case, but I wasn't entirely certain. Thanks for the clarification.
