Can you play Return of the Runelords without having played Rise?

How much would / could it take away from the AP?

No spoilers please :-)

Return takes place several years after the Rise campaign. There are references back to the original to pay homage, but not necessary to play in the original to cruise through this adventure.

Return also makes throwback references to Second Darkness, Shattered Star, and Curse of the Crimson Throne, however, it isn't necessary for you to have played any of those to play Rise, either.

Only one of my five players has played Runelords (or Second Darkness), and it's going great.
