Spheres of Power Traditions - Community Collection

Product Discussion

Traditions are one of the most versatile aspects of the Spheres of Power/Might system. Easy to make and able to add a great deal of flavor to a campaign. I thought maybe it would be good to put up a post where people can share some of the traditions they have created for their own campaigns.

This for example, is the default tradition for Goblins in my setting. Even my CR: 1/3 Goblin Warriors use this in place of the normal “All Martial and armor proficiencies” they would normally get for Warriors.

Martial Tradition: Goblin Tunnel fighting
Equipment: Goblin Heritage
Athletics Sphere (Run)
Scoundrel Sphere
Variable: Shield Training or Trap Sphere

Likewise my Orcs use this one

Martial Tradition: Orc Savagery
Equipment: Orc Heritage
Berserker Sphere
Brute Sphere
Variable: Any talent from the Berserk or Brute Spheres.

On a less general side of things I have the “Pirate's Rope Game”, which is a common entertainment for Pirates. Two men are tied at the wrist with a length of Rope and a single Dagger is thrown in the arena. The winner is the one who leaves the arena with the Rope. Some go for the knife, others just beat their opponent down. Some Pirates go as far as make a living at the game, others find themselves with no choice in the matter.

Martial Tradition: Pirate’s Rope Game
Equipment: Balanced Defense
Gladiator Sphere
Variable: Either the Brute Sphere or the Duelist Sphere
Variable: Either the Boxing Sphere or the Finesse Fighting equipment Talent

So anyone have their own Sphere Traditions to share?

This is one I created recently with the release of the Inventor's Guide 2

Martial Tradition - Necroengineer
The strange and eerie city of Zengis is known for many secrets and atrocities but Necroengeering is among the most gruesome. Using toxic Necromantic Alchemies they stitch together body parts and corpses to create useful tools and devices.

Alchemy Sphere
Leadership Sphere
Technology Sphere
Variable: Select 1 Technology Talent or the Trap Sphere

Drawbacks: Alternate Craft: Craft (Fleshcrafting), Mana Chemistry, Mana Engineering, Alternate Trap: Craft (Fleshcrafting) and Mana Traps. Undead Servants
Special: A Necroengineer creates his gadgets and traps from corpses and body parts he collects along the way in his adventures. Because of the inherant necromancy in his work they also count as being Magical, as do his Alchemy creations. They can also use their alchemical knowledge to turn corpses into undead servants to aid them in their morbid workshops
