Bekyar Redeemer

Lost Omens Campaign Setting General Discussion

I was looking through my copy of the Lost Omens World Guide and noticed the Bekyar Redeemer background. There's a problem though: nowhere in the book (or the core book, or any other 2E book) does it explain who the Bekyar are, why they need to be redeemed (the background itself mentions that they're known for worshipping demons, but which demons?), what they look like, how they differ from other Mwangi natives, etc.

It is almost like if the uncanny power of the Internet was able to summon the necessary knowledge with a snap of one's finger. Alas, that power is lost to us, forever, for we failed.

That's...still not a lot of info, and it still seems like that if you're going to include a background on a heritage, perhaps describing that heritage in the book would be a good idea.

I think the LOCG is where ethnicities get covered.

Here to confirm that there's more info on the Bekyar in Lost Omens Character Guide (you'll find them on page 7... not a LOT of info but enough to contextualize them).

For these first three books (world, character, gods) there's a bit of interconnectivity that's awkward for the first few months of the edition. We've tried to make each book self-contained, but there's a lot of information to convey. The hope was that in the interim folks could find the information they need online to get context as needed, and it's good to see that's working as intended here.

Growing pains for new editions are no fun, but they'll be a thing of the past pretty soon I hope!
