Marvel’s Kevin Feige Developing New Star Wars Movie

Lucasfilm "is pursuing a new era in 'Star Wars' storytelling, and knowing what a die-hard fan Kevin is, it made sense.”

I can't say I'm surprised by this news. I was kind of hoping they'd find someone other than Feige to do what Feige helped accomplish with the MCU.

Either way, this news has me potentially interested in watching a Star Wars movie again.

I think they will find milking SW to be much more difficult than Marvel.

HEADLINE: "EVERYONE IS DEVELOPING A NEW STAR WARS FILM."

We have what? Up to 7 nu-Star Wars films in development now, 3 from Johnson, 1-3 from Dumb & Dumber, and 1 from MCU-man? How many are folks actually expecting to see show up in theaters?

I think we'll get 4, 2-3 from Johnson depending on how scripts pan out, and 1 from D&D. Feige may get a story by and EP on a 4th, but unless Disney wants to shoot their much less rabid fanbase in the foot by pulling Feige fully over to the dev cycle of SW, then whatever he's developing won't be helmed by him.

I wonder if he will use George's scripts that he sold to Disney, and were promptly trashed by Abrams?

As far as I can tell there were no scripts. There might have been a rough outline, but no more than that.

I want my script to be considered! Darth Bane, long thought dead, before the rise of the Republic, travels through time to fight Jedi Master Luke Skywalker and his younglings while at the same time Darth Sidious' spirit lives on in a cloned body of Anakin Skywalker!

From what I understand, Lucas left script treatments, not full scripts.

So...no one else liked my idea?

Script treatments are like the first draft, the plot is there but needs to be fleshed out.

So for Episodes I & II you're saying they filmed the script treatments?

Script treatments vary.

As far as I can tell what Lucas had was something like 40-50 pages, but there are conflicting reports whether that was for the whole trilogy or just the first movie. If the first it was pretty thin, if the second, then there wasn't anything for the other movies.

It also seems like a lot of stuff from those made it into the movies, though certainly modified and expanded.

It would appear not.

Sad...

Oh well. Glad I didn't offer my other Star Wars crossing over with Indiania Jones then...

Obviously, Indiana Jones was just the result of Han's dreaming while in Carbonite.

Not if they can put out more product like Rogue One.

I guess, Kahnya. I still rather we do Marvel meets Star Wars, but eh..
