Bowspirit and melee combat

What are the penalties when a hunter uses bowspirit and then with his animal companion engages in melee combat ?
At the moment no ranged combat feats have been taken !

At the moment lvl 10 hunter , dex 16 .
And would the bowspirit gain benefits from animal focus snake and paired opportunist + precise strike ?

There aren't any penalties for engaging in melee combat, although if the hunter doesn't have precise strike and the bow spirit attack is against a foe in melee (such as the one the hunter is fighting in melee) then they would take the normal penalties for firing into melee.

The bow spirit would not benefit from precise strike or opportunist, and if the bow spirit effect achieved a critical it wouldn't let the hunter or AC take an attack of opportunity from their opportunist feats.
