Refitting armor and lifting heavy objects

Two questions from a run of part of FoP:

1. Does armor automatically fit itself to its wearer? Our male Elf looted some armor from a female Orc and wanted to know if they could wear it. The rules text doesn't mention armor fitting but it doesn't specifically mention that it's ignored either; it doesn't even allow for different armor for different sizes of creature, so a Pixie could wear armor made for a Gargantuan giant, which seems a bit much.

2. At one point in FoP there's a barred door where removing the bars to open the door requires an Athletics DC 15 check for each bar. This seemed OK but we ran into a problem when later on another party member wanted to go and pick up one of the heavy bars to use to wedge a door closed. I allowed that they could do this but the player who opened the door objected saying that if it required an Athletics check to lift the bar out of the holders on the gate then it should require the same Athletics check to lift it up and move it around because both actions are basically lifting the bar. I couldn't find any reference either way. Is this a contradiction?

I would guess in both cases the rule is “up to the GM”. That is often the case in PF2 where they don’t try to micromanage corner cases of the rules. GMs are empowered to make decisions in the interests of simplicity and fun.

As far as my opinion on how I would run them.

1. I would allow someone. with craft and a repair kit to refit the armour. For armour roughly the same size and proportions maybe let them do it in 10 minutes otherwise it would be a downtime activity.

2. I would assume they are attached in some way and that is why they were more difficult to remove so I wouldn’t worry about another check.

"Standard" armor seems to be sized for either Small or Medium creatures. Bulk of armor changes only if the armor is made for a Tiny creature or for a creature who is Large or larger.

Stats are the identical, but are medium characters allowed to use armor taken from a small creature, or small characters allowed to use armor taken from a medium creature?

Weapons seem to be the same across small and medium creatures, and probably should just be considered medium?
