What does Adamantine armor do?

Rules Discussion

I think that someone forgot to put in some text about Adamantine armors, so far, it just seems like they are made of a dark metal and cost a lot more.
Maybe I am looking the wrong place, if so, can someone please tell me where in the book it is?

I skimmed through the Armor and Materials sections, but the only real mechanical difference that I can really tell is that armor made of Adamantium would have higher Hardness and HP than normal armor.

Yeah, it does seem that way, but I really had to ask, since it just seems a bit... weak?
I dont know, maybe equipment takes more damage this edition and I just havent read up on the right section.

According to the Bestiary, you would definitely want to be wearing adamantine armor if you are fighting a smilodon, but that is a rather niche application unless there are a lot of other monsters with similar abilities to shred armor and the people wearing them.

See, if some beasties actually shreds equipment, then it makes a ton much more sense to me, thanks!

I think there are a few others.

Seems like higher Hardness and HP is reasonable effect for what it is.
Special cases granting it Immunity to certain effects are plausible and noted when relevant.
Don't see anything here, move along...
