The skull symbols on the campaign map (spoilers)

Tyrant's Grasp

I know what the explosions are... but where are we told what the skulls represent?

FKA Lastwall

I think that is where the TB's forces are mounting.

Book 1&2: Gallowspire
Book 3: Vigil as it is getting pre-nuked
Book 4: TB's forces take the two nearest major settlements near the Isle of Terror
Book 5: TB's troops move past Vigil and down the river toward Caliphas, moving on Hammer Rock

I would guess Book 6 will have a skull atop Everstand and Hallentown to finish out the major Lastwallan points of relevance. Assuming he doesn't use one of his remaining nukes to take out Everstand to turn it into Everstood...

That was kind of my take, as well.. and maybe I'm not reading closely enough but we're just getting the vaguest of details about these events, correct?

I'm totally fine with getting little to no detail. I just want to make sure I'm not missing something important.

Everstand... everstood... everscorch.

Yeah, my headcanon is that the map of Lastwall is intended to be the loose narrative of what TBs doing when not in the PCs sights. It provides a rough path of what's going on without devoting text or sidebars to it.

That's correct. The symbol is "Where is the Whispering Way most active now?" Unfortunately, many of those are replaced by an explosion symbol in the following volume...

Which is entirely coincidental and in no way is representative of the Whispering Tyrant's attitude towards the rest of the world. He is a kind and benevolent ruler who only seeks to remove the pain and suffering commonly associated with the disability called "life". :P

So safe to say most the major settelments getting nuked in volume 6?

Seems kind of a waste for a limited number of uses doomsday weapon also does that mean the place you send the refugees to also gets nuked?
