Hey guys,
quick question.
Next week I want to make my players fight against an army of Terra-Cotta Soldiers https://www.d20pfsrd.com/bestiary/monster-listings/constructs/terra-cotta-s oldier/ and I have a question about Rank Fighting.
Rank Fighting (Ex)
Whenever a terra-cotta soldier is adjacent to another terra-cotta soldier, it gains a +2 dodge bonus to its AC and a +2 bonus on saving throws, attack rolls, and damage rolls.
Does that mean in a 3 by 3 formation the one in the middle gets +16 (+2x8 adjacent soldiers) to AC, saving, attack and damage or only +2?

I would interpret it as an on/off situation.
Whenever, in other words, if it is adjacent it gets +2, regardless of how many are adjacent. If they had intended the other it would have been worded that it gets +2 for each adjacent soldier.

Agreed.
