Hi Paizo community people
Sara posted the following in a recent thread:
Do not repost content to our website that comes from places which are not publicly available (ie emails or private messages). This is a site-wide policy and not something specific to this thread.
And I'm pretty sure I'm guilty of doing that once or twice but only after getting the permission of the person who sent it to me.
For my edification - is that a reasonable exception to the above rule? If the person who sent you the private message doesn't mind cutting and pasting it into a thread so it can be seen more widely is that alright to do?

Situations I would be cautious about, even with consent would be contentious or volatile subjects likely to spark heated or intense debate when the other party is not involved with the forums. "They totally gave me permission to post this really inflammatory content, but it's in email where you can't see it." would probably end up getting taken down.

No worries. That’s pretty much what I was thinking. From memory it was a fan theory about Golarion lore and a funny story that happened to them. It wouldn’t be anything contentious.
If someone wanted to say something but didn’t feel comfortable on the forums (or something like that), I think I’d direct them to communiyt@paizo.com.
Makes sense. Thanks, Sara.
