Number of Spell levels for Constant Spell Turning

Rules Questions

How many levels of spells can constant spell turning, like on a Titan, do every round? Is it an unlimited number, or is it 1d6+4 per round?

Both the Hekatonkheires and Thanatotic titans get Spell Turning as Spell-Like Abilities. All Constant means is that the duration never times out. As an SLA, it needs a standard to reactivate. It gets the normal 1d4+6 spell levels before it gets used up. Any time the titan uses a standard to refresh the effect, start over by rolling again.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

It's a constant ability, so it's a swift action to reactivate, but otherwise Cevah is right on the mark:

A spell-like ability usually has a limit on how often it can be used. A constant spell-like ability or one that can be used at will has no use limit; unless otherwise stated, a creature can only use a constant spell-like ability on itself. Reactivating a constant spell-like ability is a swift action. Using all other spell-like abilities is a standard action unless noted otherwise, and doing so provokes attacks of opportunity.

I looked for that rule, but could not find it. Sigh.

Thanks for the information!

I couldn't either--someone else found it in a recent thread and I happened to remember it. It's not exactly optimally placed. -_-
