It's happened as far back as I can remember everything would have to be put in a certainorder, or it wouldn't feel right and bother me all. The symptoms eventually got worse, and I was eventually diagnosed with OCD. Sooo that's just some backstory you may need for this post.
For those of you that have made it this far I am extremely appreciative. I suppose to get things off what is.I need some help creating a well balance party for RotR and SnS. For RotR I definitely want to use Lenni, and I really want to use Dam and Oloch for SnS.
I like to keep my parties as balanced as can be. I also prefer to run three or four characters. I like it so that my team can use any card that they come across.
So, I guess for straters will go with my RotR team. I had Val, Lini, Ezren, started out with Harsk but eventually switched to Meri. I presume this party is pretty balance? Thats a serious question and not rhetorical one. Should I keep the hard copy same as my digital game? I"m also worried about that four characters may not be big enough for the table I am using. I'd hate to ask you all this, but could you all provide balanced four and three character teams?
Next comes SnS. Hell, I may as well start things off with some
dumb questions: what's a ship?, what's a ship used for?, the hell is swashbuckling, and are there any other roles I need to know about ships.
As I stated earlier I really want to use Dam and Oloch. Unfortunately even after reading their cards I am still a little lost. So if I could get clarifiation on what each character in SnS does that might make this hospital stay worth it. One or two complimentary cards may be useful too (again not quite sure on the dimentions of the table.
I know you probably won't be able to answer here, but do any of you have a set up showing off what it looks like when only person is playing, so I get canan idea of how much room is neededt.
One last thing, how much content would I be losing out on if I only played 3 to 4 characters.
Well, I think that is it. If someone could help me with all of this nonsense running through my mind that would great. I'm also on pretty strong pain meds in the hospital, so I apologize if this post isn't that coherrent.
XOXO

With roles and spells, the same characters can do different things. But here's a general idea:
Alahazra: Divine attack spells, heals, scouts locations like a madwoman
Jirelle: Dex-based melee fighter that helps reduce structural damage
Lem: Arcane/Divine so can cast whatever (often healing), and supports checks at his location
Lirianne: Firearms-based ranged fighter. Supports combat at other locations, so is generally all by her lonesome.
Merisiel: The usual rogue thing (also likes being alone), but this one is melee-based.
Seltyiel: Fighter/arcane magus. Probably w/ support spells, but maybe not. Can often be found looking into a mirror and flexing.
Valeros: Mostly same as Runelords. Fights stuff, supports combat at his location.
Damiel: Dexterity-based alchemical nut. Is unique. Support spells.
Feiya: Arcane caster that supports combat at location and probably sacrifices animals, but that accusation was never proven in court.
Lini: Definitely does *not* sacrifice animals, and instead draws upon their innate powers over and over again. Does the healing/divine thing.
Oloch: Fighter/healer warpriest that supports other players' checks (regardless of location).

First I want to say. I hope your hospital stay is a short one and you get well quickly.

It is little light on healing. In the group only Lini can heal but its well balanced.
Should I keep the hard copy same as my digital game?
Not sure what you mean by this.

For SnS, There are several combinations. Stargazer Alahazra is one of the best characters created and should serve as the base of your team. Pick any two to go with her. I would grab a melee character with the group. Dexterity or Strength based will work. I dont see why you cant add in Damiel and Oloch as you stated above. Granted the most common used skill is Survival in this set. I feel you would be better served trading out Oloch for Jirelle.
I may as well start things off with some dumb questions: what's a ship?, what's a ship used for?, the hell is swashbuckling, and are there any other roles I need to know about ships.
Most scenarios you will be on a ship. The way ships work takes some getting use to. Think of it as a buff that is always with the person whose turn it is. If its Alahazra turn, she is on the ship and its with her. If she moves, the ship moves and anyone with her (at her location) can move with her.
Leading into Ships, Banes can also do Structural damage. This effects your ships and can be prevented by anyone on the ship by discarding a card per point of damage to prevent it. If you cant or chose not to discard to prevent it, it wrecks your ship. Which is bad.
Craft comes up a lot with ships. Not as much as survival, but still a lot.
I know you probably won't be able to answer here, but do any of you have a set up showing off what it looks like when only person is playing, so I get can get an idea of how much room is needed.
There is a thread that had a challenge on it to complete a scenario with conditions. I will try to find it. It has pictures of a 3 person solo game. I will post it later if I can find it.
One last thing, how much content would I be losing out on if I only played 3 to 4 characters.
None. the game was balanced around 4 players.

Thank you for your well-wishes. They mean more coming from strangers than people I see on a daily basis. I just have a very long, rough history with Crohn's and end up hospitalised at least once a month.
Yeah the healing was kind of light come to think about it, but each other character besided Lini had a way to heal either via items or allies.
