Running Barakus, looking for tips

I've run home brewed material for a long time, supplementing now and then from published material. Recently I won the chance to GM a new 1/month game and want to use my FGG Lost City of Barakus in its entirety. Any tips and tricks for running this product or sandbox settings in general?
