How many characters should a "newb" play with?

Pathfinder Adventure Card Game General Discussion

I've just beaten Rise of the Runelords with Ezren, Valeros, Lini, and Merisiel. I'm now going to starting Skull and Schackles. My question is, and I am sure it has never been asked before; should I play with three or four characters? People tend to say it comes down to differences. I was just wondering if anyone had any thoughts on this matter. Especially the one we all are well you get more turns as a three person party than a four person, you miss on other areas, right?

So.. umm... yeah, that was it. I really do hope that someone wil help me or a friendly argument could happen.

Cheers,
Grabnar

Is this about Pathfinder First Edition or about the Pathfinder Card Game?
Either case, this is the Pathfinder Second Edition Playtest forum, so it's probably not the right place to ask. Normally 4 people parties are the classic assumed number.

Damn, I am so sorry. I was looking for the trading card general forum. Please excuse me.

If you have completed the entirety of Rise of the Runelords, then i'm not sure I would call you a newb.

I personally think that 3 characters with a wide range of skills and stats are the strongest. There are several really good characters in SnS. Personally I think Alahazra is the strongest from the set. Her stargazer role will allow neuter any risk the game will present.

Other characters worth mentioning are Jirelle and Damiel.

Jirelle is all about the pirate stuff with great bonuses to help out the ship. Including reducing structural damage and whatnot.

Damiel is another character I feel that was slightly over powered due to the way potions are balanced. Alchemical items are meant to be banished, that is why they are so strong. He gets to recharge them.
