Asexual NPC in first book

Strange Aeons

Ok, something I have been wondering about. In the first book it specifically says one of the inmates of the asylum is asexual. I am wondering if this is just some characterization (like saying he has red hair) or do the people of Golarion regard asexuality as a mental illness and put people who have it in asylums? The second possibly is pretty scary as what other conditions might they put people in asylums for?

That is one of the guards. Guards aren't patients in asylums usually :p

That said, one of patients did got put into asylum because their family bribed them because they refused to get wed(though its not given reason why he did, so not sure if he is aromantic/asexual, just not currently interested or some other reasons)
