The warpriest gains Improved Unarmed Strike if unarmed is his deity's favored weapon. The Sacred Fist archetype gains IUS as a bonus feat replacing Weapon Focus. Do I just lose Weapon Focus for no benefit, would I be able to choose a different bonus feat, just regain Weapon Focus, or what?
I know how I would rule in this situation, but am interested in other's thoughts.
Many Clerics and Inquisitors 'lose out' by worshipping a deity who grants proficiency they already had from class, and don't get compensated for it. It's just a fact of life.
For an unarmed Warpriest of Irori, Sacred Fist is very much a worse option than just Two-Weapon Fighting unarmed Warpriest or even Monk/Cleric. Sacred Fist is by far at it's best with a nice strong weapon in two hands.

By looking at his Divine Fighting Technique, I'd say it's save to claim that Irori hates unarmed characters.

Irori wants his followers to take Ascetic Style/Strike with a temple sword and Improved Critical, so that some point after level 10 the DFT becomes somewhat useful. Or at least, that's about the only way I can figure it.
Uh, let me calculate that.
10th level, using my existing chassis, 10th level: +0.8 damage in Dragon Style, +1.3 damage in Ascetic Style. Even with a 17-20 weapon, Improved Critical and Critical Focus, it's a mere +4.8 damage, significantly less than what picking up Possessed Hand or Jabbing Style would have granted.
Not really surprising, considering how we're talking about a mere +4.5 bonus damage to 10% to 20% of all attacks.
I had the idea of building a Greater Weapon of the Chosen Warpriest (while allowing the maximizing thing to apply to the Vital Strike dice), but then you actually need to use your unarmed strike, and even with a dip into Constructed Pugilist Brawler I can't see that working out...
