Applying Occult to this AP

This AP came out before any of the Occult books
Does any of the Occult content fit well here?

It looks tailor made for an Occultist character (there is even a curator archetype)

I am also vaguely aware of an Occult focused Ustalavic organisation that is obsessed with Osirian stuff. I assume this must be a well founded obsession somewhere

So has anyone applied anything from these books? Either items or character classes etc. ?

Haven't run it, but it's easy to squeeze in the occult classes.

Spiritualists can be run as an NPC class... until the first adventure is over, and they pick up a friendly spirit in the opening tomb. (talk to your PC about this).

Mediums will be swapping out spirits constantly. That's also pretty awesome, and should provide a kind of bonus to knowledge checks, and if you are good DM with a good set of players, should be a ton of fun.

Of course the Occultist class fits, what with all the artifacts and ancient treasures you pick up.

Psychic & Mesmerist go right to the theme of the oriental adventure, and can easily come into the game, although they won't be as "fun" (I think) as the previous three, who really deal a ton with the dead and the ancient.

Kineticists, for all the love they get here, don't add anything more to Mummy's Mask than they would for any other AP.

FIND THE PATH is a good podcast which i just started listening too. They are running MUMMY'S MASK and while they don't have any occultist classes, might help you get some familiarity with the AP and how you can help make it a better experience for your players.

I had no idea that there was an actual play of Mummy’s mask out there
Pathfinder ones are quite thought to locate it would seem

I have found others of varying quality (mainly on sound)

yeah. there's a youtube actual play out there that's finished the whole AP (i think). it's really well done, particularly the camera work, which shows the players' faces and the map.

I added rules for exorcising Hakotep from the Forgotten Pharaoh in book 4 (see the Secret of the Sphinx thread). They are my own rules, but I started from the occult rules for exorcism when I created these rules. my players have not entered the Sphinx yet, so I can't say how it went.
