I registered my first character 1501 and it made my character name my real name with no way of changing it. I deleted it since I wasn't fond of having my real first and last name posted. Is there going to be a way to change the names before the Playtest begins? I don't want to try again only to have to delete a 1502 number too. Thanks

I went to test it, and it let me enter my own unique identifier for the character name.
Oddly, I could not submit because it required a faction to submit and there are no factions to click. At least not on an Apple device.
EDIT: I think I now see that your issue is tied to the required faction that can't be selected because when I went back to my character list, my playtest character was present with the default name, which is my name with a number after it.
I don't know if it helps any, but you're the only one who will ever see that unless you post with it. If you're planning on doing PBP, then I recommend using an Alias and assign all credit to one number. For the playtest, it doesn't matter which playtest number you assign credit to since it all goes into one pool.

Presumably at some point in the next day or so the website will be updated to fix this problem, but also keep in mind that Playtest characters don't really matter. The points you earn are assigned to the player, not the character, so really you just need to hand the GM the -1501 code and you're good to go. You don't need to make sure the points are assigned to the particular character you played if you don't want to.

I was able to get a suitable character name by changing my account name before creating it. I just wanted to use the name Jabber Mouth for my playtest goblin bard. I'm probably only going to try that one character through out the playtest since it doesn't look like there will be many games of it in Delaware. There isn't much interest in the local PFS groups. I'm just disappointed that I had to delete my -1501 number so will just use my new -1502 for everything.
